Random moments from an Algarve week
It had just bounced with rain and the bottle brush plant was sodden.
Then there’s one that would fit well in my recent post on “fontes”.
And an item that I was much taken with. More to come in a future post.
Then my little side trip with Flat Ruthie.
So now you know how I spent my week. It was wonderful looking back and now it’s your turn. To play Six word Saturday you need to visit Cate’s Show My Face so click on the link or the banner at the top of this page, and get started. My Six word Saturday page will show you what I’ve been up to in the past. Feel free to browse. See you next week.

I could do with some of that warmth and blue sky. Lovely pics as usual.
Thanks Viv. We actually have some here in Hartlepool this morning too, which is a rareity.
A busy week! You live in a beautiful place.
Love the one of the man on the horse.
Hmmh, I had my eye on him too!
how wonderful…jealous!
Thanks. Coming “home” is difficult sometimes.
Gorgeous photos of a beautiful spot!
Thank you. I love it too!
Thanks a lot. I never tire of taking photos of it.
Thank you for taking me along where this old geezer would probably otherwise never get to go. Beautiful.
Thanks Ron. You’re very welcome.
Thank you Johanna, for bringing a little of my Portugal to my World. Lena
It’s a beautiful place Hferrati.
Absolutely gorgeous! Now added to the long, long list of places I want to see in person someday. Thanks for sharing.
Bet your list isn’t as long as mine! And I’ve worked so hard at shortening it.
Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
It’s my favourite Saturday chore Francine. Thank you.
Such a beautiful place you spent your week at! Loved the pictures from the festival; interesting event to attend; I think I would like it!
may you have a great rest of the weekend!
betty
Thanks Betty. I really didn’t think we were going to see the Folklore Festival as the skies opened just as we got there and we were marooned in the car for threequarters of an hour. We were very lucky and the skies cleared so the procession could go ahead in this lovely setting. I must add something to my “A is for Alte” post- it was beautifully done, with lavender strewn on the floor for the folk groups to walk over.
Great place to spend random moments.
It definitely is. I’ll be back to the more mundane next week.
Lovely pictures of a lovely place! Thank you!
Thanks Astrid. I absolutely love it.
Love your pictures!! Thanks for your Six Word Saturday that tells us so much!!
Thank you! A story in pictures. I wonder sometimes if I’m not in the wrong challenge, but I’m no photographer and I like doing it this way.
I think it’s your blog, your way of expressing yourself, and you should do it however your heart desires…
You are blessed to be a part of such a beautiful, vibrant and culturally rich place. The pictures are just amazing. I wish I get to see this place one day. Thanks for sharing.
I’ll send you an invite when we finally move out there.
I did a double-take on the ‘bottle-brush’ plant, heh.
I’m assured by my plant expert (know it all!) husband that it’s a calystemnon (though I’ve probably spelt it wrong), but I’ve always known them as bottle brush plants. I love them and we have a baby one outside our Tavira house.
Hahaha. I’ve never seen one before but the name is very descriptive.
What a lovely place! Thank you so much for sharing it with us on Six Word Saturday!
So welcome Cate. It’s my pleasure.
These are lovely photos. It would be hard to pick a favorite among them.
Thank you! Good subject matter, huh?
Very nice (and varied) subject matter, no doubt!
We went to Tavira last summer, loved it there!
Did you see Flat Ruthie in Sanlucar de Guadiana? Your territory!
Fabulous photos, I love the blue niche or maybe it’s a doorway, under the bottlebrush.
Thanks a lot! It’s an azulejo panel- the tiles appear all over Portugal. The ones in Alte commemorate the work of a local poet Candido Guerreiro.
I definitely need to travel and see this in person! Your photos are so alluring!
Bless you Barbara, how can I go wrong with subject matter like this!
Hello!! Tag – you’re it!!! Please check my post for “rules” (I really enjoy your blog!!)
Can’t beat an early morning surprise! Thanks Vicky- beautiful tag design. On my to-do list!
