I love it, but hate it!

Just a smattering, seen through the conservatory window

It’s coming! It’s coming!

Run upstairs and look out of the window

Let’s check out the park

So pretty and ethereal

Not frozen- yet!

Water glistens on the tree

There I am, but look at that sky!

Droplets were melting and blowing off the trees

Just one romantic couple

Noone sitting on the benches today

A delicate snow bush

Over the hedge, the bowling green

No tea and cake in the pavilion today

The melancholy clock tower
You know what I’m talking about. Magical soft fat flakes that have me rushing out to play. Followed by grumpy Alice a day or two later, when it’s turned to a slippery grey skating rink.
Click on the first photo to see them in gallery form. It’s clever, isn’t it?

How pretty! It all looks so magical at first, doesn’t it?
It does, Tilly. I’ve just dripped back from zumba- it’s not so nice today. Just lots of it!
My three-year-old London grand-daughter is posted on my facebook page. She is playing in the snow and has a big snowball in her hands.
Cheers,

Hi Jim! Good to have you back, suitably refreshed?
I like the one with the photographer’s shadow!
Shadows, reflections…. just call me versatile! (ha! ha!)
Your 6W are so true! Great pictures!
Thanks, Robyn. I’m just back from zumba- it’s not so nice out there today.
What a lovely park. And the shadow is fun.
Hope you got the slide show to work today, Viv? I intended to come back that way after zumba and take some shots of much deeper snow, but it’s not very nice underfoot, so I gave up and got the bus like a wuss.
Gorgeous pics Jo. I love it white and fresh too
Thanks Georgia. I noticed you had a winter wonderland post too. Will pop over this eve and have a look. I’m just snatching 5 mins before going out again.
A snowy wonderland in that beautiful play of light and shadow!
Thanks Gemma. It was a lovely afternoon, and the trees kept spattering us with water. Great fun. Bit more bleak and grey today. I went to zumba and meant to walk back through the park to take some deeper snow shots, but I chickened out!
I agree! Snow is pretty, though. Beautiful pics!
Thanks, Dana. Not sorry to be back in the warm now.
Lovely photos. I love especially the last photo presenting bell tower. These kinds of bell towers are my favorite.
Thank you, Sartenada. The snow lends that particular tower a bit more atmosphere- on a sunny day it’s nothing special.
Lovely indeed. We’ve got lots on the ground & lots more falling even at this moment, AND temps in the teens below zero (F). Oy. It’s keyboard and coffee for me today.
Well, I still made it to zumba and met a friend for lunch in the marina, Ron, but I’m not sorry to be back home with a cuppa now.
I’ve been playing in the snow this morning, had a whale of a time! I like your 6ws I know what you mean!
Nice when you have young uns to play with, Jess. Could have done with a toboggan here yesterday, but it’s gone all mush today.
No truer words
It’s an age thing, sadly, Colline. When you have to start worrying if you might fall and break something. Ah, youth…
We’d love some snow in Georgia! (6 words
)
Can’t help, Robin. It’s going all mushy!
I have the same love/hate relationship with the snow.
Yep! It’s a grey mush day today…
These pictures are truly beautiful. Love them!
There’s a magical moment, isn’t there, Ann? But then …. Thanks!
Magical snow pics! How beautiful, Jo!
It was a beautiful afternoon, Amy- crisp and white, with a little sunshine. Back to grey slush today.
My thoughts exactly! I love snow…but also dread it, and even hate it sometimes!
Just stay inside and keep warm…and enjoy the beauty of it from the inside looking out!!
Happy Saturday!
Linda
Thanks Linda! It wasn’t so bad. I still got to zumba and met a friend for lunch. Cosy agai now though. Curtains closed so who knows what tomorrow will bring.
I used to love it when I was wee….
Toboggans- yippee!
Have I ever told you how much I love towers? :O and as for snow – I have a love/hate relationship with it – it is needed but in right measures and at the right time, and its timing is always wrong – grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I loved all of your snowy samples
Thanks, hon. It’s quite an ordinary looking clock tower most days, transformed with a moody sky and a dusting of snow.
What beautiful pics! I’m in the tropics, so this is a complete turn-around of scenery for me
I will pretend very hard not to be jealous, and thank you…
I know what you mean but these are all so GORGEOUS!
Easy to say when you’re somewhere warm, Gem, but yes, they’re pretty. Thanks, hon.
Great photography Jo I really love it and for sure I need a gallons of coffee if I`m there, kidding ….Excellent post my friend
Coffee or steaming hot soup, Jake, but you’d love it! Thank you.
I agree, I love the freshly fallen snow, but the grey slush that ends up on the paths days later is a total pain in the proverbial.
Hi Vicky! Yes, we’re at slush status now.
Lovely pictures. I’m with you on the snow, I like it when it is snowing but then I want it to just go away.
Needing a touch of the abracadabras this morning, Tonya. No- I just looked again and it’s still mush!
Its beautiful if I don’t have to be driving in it, but if I have to drive in it, then I’m one that didn’t like it the eight years we lived in Montana. It is so pristine and glistening
love all the pictures!
betty
Thanks, Betty. Yes, I really worry if my son’s driving back to Leeds in it, but he’s very nonchalant. “Mam, I’ve been driving for 5 years now…”
I know what you mean. I think snow is so beautiful, but it is also such a pain in the butt…. It would be great if it only snowed on weekend and was all clean and melted by Monday
My daughter has similar ideas, Hilary. She gets married in 3 weeks time and has requested snow on the rooftops and the grass verges, but not on the roads and pavements.
So beautiful and yes ethereal Jo! But I am quite happy admiring all that beauty from afar
I’d like to come and admire it from afar with you, Madhu- if that’s ok?
Most welcome
Are you sure you will survive the heat?
I’ll give it my very best shot! Actually I’m in Tavira next weekend so the temps will be a little kinder than here, but nowhere near yours.
I love you snowy pics and the snow – just so long as I don’t have to drive anywhere…
That sky looked menacing
Thanks, Suze. I think you’re getting much more than us at present? Keep safe. I’m off to Tavira on Saturday. I can just about wait! Got to do some serious catch up reading now as I’ve just done Jake’s.
I love the new galleries from WordPress, and you’ve utilized them well. But what I really like is your funny personality and how you keep it all real! Beautiful shots.
Take care, Jo
Elisa
Thanks a lot, Elisa. I wasn’t too sure when the galleries came out, because I like to “walk people through” my posts. But now I’ve used it a time or two I can see the value, and it’s nice to be able to ring the changes (all thanks to WP with just a little effort from me)
I LOVE snow especially now since I’ve been inlove with snowboarding more than four years ago. I get sooo excited when I see snow falling, snow-capped peaks, and etc! Snow has kept my winter-blues away…
I wish I could wrap it up and send you ALL of it. The novelty has definitely worn off, but it was nice for a while.
And here I am in the desert of Arizona, longing for a week or two in the snow….to hear the awesome silence, to feel the bright sting on my face, to fall down in the pillowy cushion … notice I said nothing about the treacherous driving or the dreary days of grey skies and melting muddy slush. Enjoy!
I’d swap, of course! I’m flying out to Portugal at teatime and the snow is inches deep so wish me luck.
