Flying south, but not for long
Just a week, in Tavira. What will I find this trip?

And a sunset or two over the tracks, as we walk down into town
When I return it’s just days to my daughter’s wedding and I can feel the excitement rising now. I hope to find a minute or two to post a few pics, but otherwise you know there’ll be a wedding bonanza coming up.
Many thanks to Cate at Show My Face for being our genial lady hostess. Click on the link or the header to see how you can join in. The button below will take you to my previous Six word Saturdays.

These pictures are beautiful, Jo. Where do I start? I love the pirate ship and those cliffs are amazing. The hibiscus is wonderful (I can almost smell it!) and the castle is spectacular
I’m guessing some wedding photos may be posted soon???
Thanks, Dianne. Yes, there may well be a wedding photo or seven!
I stayed in Tavira for a few days many years ago. Lovely place. Looking forward to seeing a few pics of the wedding!
It still is, Kath. I still get excited going there.
Do have a lovely stay. I am sure it will be gorgeous, I love southern europe at this time of the year, and if it is any help we are blue skies and sunshine here in Gib so hopefully the Algarve will be the same.
Blue skies in the UK too Rough, but a foot of snow dripping behind me as I type!
Have a wonderful time. We’ll have to wait until August for my hibiscus to flower. But at least we can look forward to the primroses – they’re late this year.
Thanks Viv. See you soon!
Beautiful photos, Jo, especially those cliffs. Hope your daughter’s wedding goes smoothly. I’m sure you’ll be the proud (& relaxed!) mom!
Thanks, Cath. I will. (fingers crossed)
Beautiful photos Jo, have a lovely time! My six words for today would be snow snow snow snow snow sunshine. About a foot of snow here but this morning the sun’s beating down out of a blue sky making it all glisten and twinkle (and, hopefully, melt).
Same here, Lorna, but it’s dripping furiously at the moment. Thanks!
Lovely flower photos. Bon Voyage!
Many thanks!
Such a cool mother-of-the bride – congratulations to you both. Tavira looks gorgeous Jo, especially walking on the beach below those cliffs -wow!!!
I love the cliffs, too, Meredith. We’re at the flat, salt marsh end of the Algarve in Tavira, but it’s just a tootle down the road when you want a change. Thank you!
Beautiful, J.
Have I said it here before? I have GOT TO GET OUT MORE. Thanks for dragging me along!
You’re great company, Ron. Take care.
I love the first pic
Enjoy your week escape from the cold.
Out of my front window yesterday morning, Vicky. Thanks!
Beautiful pics – and an exciting time ahead! Enjoy!
Thanks much, Tilly. I’ll be back!
Have a wonderful time away

Thanks Ann. Next job is to download them. (the Tavira ones)
Looks like a great place to spend a few days.
It was beautiful, Wayne, thanks. Just need to get my English head on now.
Wow have a great time and so incredibly exciting about your daughters wedding!!!!!!!!!
I’m in the aftermath of a holiday with pre-wedding nerves, Nicole!
I bet you are! When is the big day? Is it being held in the UK? How exciting!!!
Near Nottingham, where Lisa lives, the reception in a “manorial home”, this Saturday. Yikes!
I can almost smell the apple blossom! Gorgeous pictures!
Fields of it, Dana! Absolutely beautiful.
It looks nice as warm where you are…much better than the snow and cold here. Thanks for sharing such great pics.
We left a foot of snow behind when we flew out of Newcastle airport, Amanda. Thank goodness it was gone when we got back last night.
A week before the wedding and you have time to get away. I always needed the week after the wedding. Enjoy your trip!
That was the plan, Judy, but the flights were so expensive with Valentine’s and half term, we opted for a much cheaper week (and we were lucky- the weather was gorgeous)
Beautiful images that inspires you to hope and dream. When I look at your photos, i am reminded of my dream place. Perhaps one day, I will find it.
I sometimes think I have, Mr. B, but then the old restlessness gets a hold. We had a beautiful week. So lucky!

Do we get a glimpse?
Wonderful photos! And such variety.

Portugal? I want the trees to blossom in Utah!
I was reading all about the almond while I was there, Kate. I just need 2 different varieties of the tree and the right climate, and I’m on the way….
I hope you find all that and more during your short trip, can’t wait to see some wedding photos though
We did! We did! Pre-wedding jitters now, Sam.
